Hospital Results: Please bear in mind that tests organised for you outside of the surgery are NOT routinely forwarded by the hospital to us. The results are given directly to the person who has requested it. If the hospital has asked you to contact the GP to find out the results please inform them that it is the responsibility of the person requesting the test to give you the results.
To Access Your Test Results
If you have registered on the NHS App you will be able to see your results once they are uploaded by the clinician. The is the fastest way to see your results once available.
If you are unable to access your results via the NHS App we ask patients to telephone our reception team to request their test results. You may telephone 01727 831888 for your results between 11:00 am -2:00 pm. If you wish a doctor to explain the results please ask for the clinician who requested them and our team will make every effort to accommodate your request.
BLOOD TESTS – Please note there is no longer a walk-in service at St Albans City Hospital for blood tests. Please click the button below for information on how to book an appointment for a blood test in St Albans, Watford or Hemel Hempstead.
How long before I get my test results?
Blood tests results usually take between 2 – 10 days depending on the type of blood test.
X-ray and ultrasound results can take approximately 2 weeks
For tests arranged by other services and not at the GP surgery please ask the department or team that requested the tests for the results and to discuss the next steps. We are unable to give or comment on test results arranged by other services until we receive a clinic letter from them outlining the tests carried out, the reason they were carried out, the results and the next steps in their management plan.
